Fish rearing against hunger

The Aquaculture Research Group (Grupo de Investigación en Acuicultura, GIA) of the University of Las Palmas Gran Canaria (ULPGC), who carries out cooperation projects all over the world, will work with Corea to facilitate the rearing of fish species in Africa.

African entrepreneurs visit the facilities of GIA-ULPGC in Taliarte (Las Palmas)

On the occasion of the activity “Interchange of enterprising experiences between the Canary Islands and Africa”, organized by the University of Las Palmas Gran Canaria within the framework of the COEMPRENDE project, a group of African entrepreneurs visited the experimental rearing facilities of the Aquaculture Research Group (GIA) (Telde, Las Palmas). In particular, entrepreneurs of Agro Business Center (University Gaston Berger- Saint-Louis, Senegal) and Peixeria Paiva and Silva (University of Cabo Verde) attended the guided visit of the facilities and the explanation of main research lines, showing great interest to develop the aquaculture in their countries.
